Aberdeen Works

The wider Aberdeen Works project will link opportunities created by the Masterplan and other transformational projects with local needs. It provides support to develop tendering skills for local SMEs, potentially increasing their success rate, whilst improving local access to employment opportunities and wider community benefits.

The City Council led Aberdeen Works initiative has attracted an £856,166 European Structural Fund grant (covering 40% of the £2.2 million project) to develop and deliver an employability pipeline.  The allocated Masterplan budget will be used to offset part of the project delivery costs.

The project (Progress through Positive Partnerships) will focus on five regeneration areas: Middlefield, Torry, Woodside, Seaton and Tillydrone, supporting those facing significant barriers to enter the labour market.

The European Structural and Investment Funds are the European Union’s main way of investing in ‘smart, sustainable and inclusive’ growth in its member states.
